Six years ago, a friend brought me to MAERIM WHALE PARK RESORT. I stayed a few days, loved it, moved in, and I’ve been here ever since. I can’t think of any bad points. It’s a quiet resort despite being close to a busy road. Two rows of buildings block much of the sound. About 150 yards away, the main road has a yellow sontaw every ten minutes to Wararot Market in Chiang Mai. Across the road is a huge new market area with shops, garages, Rimping Supermarket, KFC, and an amazing place to eat where robotic trolleys bring your food and clear your plates. The resort has ten lovely villas around a lake, plus apartments and condos at low prices. There’s a restaurant, coffee bar, and the biggest swimming pool in the area. It’s so clean I hesitate to dive in. The staff are friendly and cheerful, the rooms are kept clean, and the sheets and towels are changed regularly. The gardens are lovely and well cared for. A circular road goes around the village, with shops, restaurants, and bars. There’s also an outdoor exercise area with fitness machines and a badminton court, both free to use. Within about ten minutes’ walk you’ll find Green Valley Golf Course with places to eat, Makro, Supercheap Shop, banks, a pharmacy, dentist, opticians, 3BB Wifi, 7/11, vegetarian food stalls, massage, and pet care. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s a large swimming pool. Rooms are good enough for the price. Mae Rim is quiet and away from downtown, but close to Mon Jam. You can walk to nearby shops and restaurants like KFC, Starbucks, Suki Teenoi Hot Pot, 7-eleven, and DIY. Breakfast wasn’t bad, I just don’t like porridge and wish they served different items. I’ll come again. 🤍

A really nice place, away from street noise, with a huge warm swimming pool and everything you need in one spot. The people are funny and friendly, and they speak English and several other languages. There’s a restaurant inside, the grounds are clean and beautifully landscaped, and the rates are unbelievably low.
