I found this hotel through the rock climbing in the area. We were there over the New Year holiday a while back, and I still look back fondly on the stay. The room was comfortable, but it was the hospitality that made it special. We had a lovely dinner with the proprietors and their friends. This is a guesthouse, but not the usual backpacker kind.

The owners are lovely and very hospitable. The hotel is full of beautiful Lanna style antiques, tucked into corners all around the place. It’s on a side street not far from the main road, though outside Mae Sai city centre. The 7/11 on the main road is 500 m away, and the hotel offers free bikes for exploring the Chinese village area. My room was new and big, with good TV signal. A great choice for anyone.

It’s a quiet hotel, though not the cheapest. There were lots of bees, and we couldn’t go onto the inside balconies.
