The Chater@Kaengkud

We seemed to be the only guests on our first morning, but the staff still put together a huge breakfast just for the two of us. They were all very friendly, though the language barrier kept us from becoming good friends. The stay seemed among the most luxurious in Kaengkud, and there were tons of TV channels, just no big names like HBO or Fox Movies. I’m not sure why there were so many Indian channels. The bed was hard as a plank, while the pillow was soft as a marshmallow. Even with those drawbacks, it’s a good choice for the area.

The restaurant pool gives the place a nice feel when you’re sharing a drink with a friend. The food was good, and the staff were very nice. Up in the mountains, it’s close to the river and rafting, with lovely huts that are all new, fresh, and clean. The TV and internet worked well. My warmest recommendations for this resort.

I booked two nights through Hotel.com at a very low price. When we arrived late in the evening, the service employee gave us trouble, and my Thai wife spent nearly 15 minutes on the phone with the owner. Because of the low rate, he didn’t want to give us a room for both nights, only one.

The owners are friendly, and the lodging is modern and comfortable. Our room was spacious and clean, and the food was good. We thought it was much better than another place we checked in the area. They also take great care of the grounds and landscaping.
