Chiang Mai Elephant Friends

The grounds are so spacious, with plenty to do besides spending time by the river or with the elephants. Our daughter was especially taken with the friendly dogs and cats. On the full-day program, we had a picnic near a waterfall and were pleasantly surprised to find pad thai in the lunch box. The river was chilly in January, but the sunshine made the weather lovely, and bamboo rafting through the beautiful scenery was a real treat, especially since it’s not something you can easily do in Japan. There’s no elephant riding for animal welfare reasons, but bathing with them in the river was incredibly fun. The staff were always smiling and welcoming, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious and filling. Such a great time for our family, highly recommended if you have kids!

We had such a good time on this ethical elephant tour in mid-November. The waterfall picnic was delicious, and we ate right beside the water. Getting picked up at the airport and dropped back there at the end made the day easy. Our guide was friendly, funny, and full of useful information. Bamboo rafting was a cool experience too. Definitely recommend it.

The elephants seemed playful and really well looked after. We booked the full-day visit and loved it. The team were so kind, and even though we arrived early, they helped us get into our room ahead of time. Since we had the tour booked, they collected us at the train station and later took us to our next hotel. A brilliant stay at Chiang Mai Elephant Friends. We’d happily come back!

The room was comfy and clean, and the food was really good, simple but tasty. Danial cooked it too. We had a great time on the full-day tour with all the lovely elephants. The staff were warm and attentive, especially our guide Danial. He cared about every animal we came across during the day, even the strays, and my wife and I could feel how kind-hearted he is.
