KP Place

The owner drove us to the train station for half what our taxi had cost on arrival. The hotel is right in central Lop Buri, with a night market about a 20-minute walk away that we recommend. Our room was clean by Thailand standards and had air conditioning or a fan. The price was very good.

The owner/manager was happy to fit me in when I turned up a day early, having mixed up my dates. I booked a corner room, which was bright, nicely decorated and practical, with a glass sliding closet door. The only thing I'd improve is the low water flow at both the shower and sink. There was free coffee and biscuits in the dining area when I checked out the next morning, and I forgot my 200 baht key deposit. The manager ran after me and returned it when I was nearly at the songtheow stop. People were kind all along the way in Lop Buri. A local driving a van from Mochit told me about the red songtheow route and dropped me near one of its stops after figuring out where I needed to go. I said “Big C,” the closest landmark to KP Place. The hotel owner, the lady driving the songtheow the next morning, and the railway ticket agent were all helpful too. Just be aware that the red songtheow follows different routes before and after the train station.

Practical and really comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again.
