We stayed one night, on a Friday in November. At check-in, reception was empty, so my wife called the number posted for the maid, who came to show us to the room. You need to speak Thai to stay here. During the day, two maids seemed to run the resort; they were pleasant and helpful. The room was one of the strangest we’ve stayed in. The water was hot and the bed a bit hard, but the layout was impractical, and we weren’t impressed overall. Breakfast was brought to the room. It was okay for one night, though as 60-year-olds we didn’t feel it suited us. Maybe 20-year-olds would enjoy it.

Buda Muaklek resort has a very original design for its guest bungalows, set on a hill cliff with a lovely big garden. The staff were attentive and very nice, and booking was easy. They also let you bring your dogs, which isn’t always the case in Thailand, and make home made port. It’s a great choice if you want somewhere peaceful and nice to visit with your dogs. Prasak Jolit dam is only 25 minutes away.

The rooms were decent, and the gardens are beautiful. I was surprised there wasn’t any security at the gate, and the kitchen wasn’t working during dinner time, so we ended up ordering food from 7-11.

The rates run from 1190B to 2990B a night, and you can add the set breakfast for 150B per person or choose à la carte. We had a spacious room with a lovely nature view, and the staff were friendly. The villas have a Santorini, Greece theme. A nice place to stay in Muaklek, and one I'd recommend.

I tried their signature dish and really liked it! The view and atmosphere are so calming. A good spot if you're looking to unwind and be close to nature.
