The Museum Hotel

We chose this place because it was very close to a relative’s house, but the stay was awful. The lobby was boiling when my family and I arrived, and the front desk woman was rude and brushed us off during check-in. Around ten minutes after we got to the room, we found the air conditioning was broken. We called the lobby in English, explained the problem, and she hung up on us. We switched to Thai and someone was sent up, but he took 20 minutes to arrive and was rude too. He didn’t seem to know what he was saying. He told us to leave the air conditioning at 23c, so we did, but it broke down again ten minutes later. He just turned it up. I looked up the error message and found it was related to pipes in the roof. We asked to change rooms the next day, and he said we could. The breakfast was atrocious, with tiny portions and only a set meal option, such as eggs, thin ham, and 2 mini sausages. There was black mold in the bathroom, and the walls were paper thin. Would not recommend, 0 stars.

The bed was really nice and the pool was decent, but the breakfast was terrible, as seems common in Thailand. I don’t know how hotels get away with serving food like that. At 950 baht, I expected much better. I might have accepted it at a cheap hotel.

The hotel has potential, but quite a few things didn’t work for me. The table in my room was sticky, the curtain wouldn’t open, and the towel rack by the sink fell down. There was no light in the stairwell, and even after I asked, nothing changed. The price was quite high just because it was the weekend, although the hotel was almost empty. One person at reception seemed uninterested and didn’t try to understand me, but luckily it was only one of them.

The museum-style decor makes for beautiful photos, so it’s a fun fit for anyone who likes taking selfies. My room was comfortable, and the price felt reasonable for the value. The air conditioning was inconsistent, though, and the staff service was just average. Breakfast didn’t offer much variety. I stayed one night recently and liked the distinctive setting.
