The place was really clean and looked fully renovated. The staff were friendly, and the shower had good pressure. The blow dryer worked great too. I'd definitely recommend it. :)

For the price, it's very cheap, the bed is comfy, there's a warm bath and the air conditioning is brand new and ice cold. You can also walk to Walking street. The hotel feels about 40 years old, though, and the room could use a full renovation, along with new sheets and towels. It's okay for a budget stay, but I think another $10/night could get you somewhere much better. One thing that really unsettled me was the wardrobe creaking several times during the night. If that sort of thing scares you, stay away.

The rooms are compact, clean and comfortable, with good hot water and air conditioning. The Wi-Fi is pretty good, though you have to reconnect every day. TV options include one English movie channel and one news channel, plus lots of Thai stations and a few Vietnamese and Lao ones. Breakfast isn't a big selection, just backed eggs or rice porridge, but the portions and quality are good. Staff are helpful, although most have limited English apart from the Manager. The location is handy: two minutes to local restaurants and a 7 Eleven, five minutes on foot to the riverfront and about seven minutes to the night market. The rental bicycles are in very poor, unsafe condition. Don't use them.

I wouldn't recommend this place, especially the VIP room. I booked based on the online pictures and having seen it a few years ago, but the room was small, cramped, cluttered, tired and shabby. The bedding looked grubby, not fresh or laundered. At 600฿ for the rack rate, or 800฿ for a VIP room, it's overpriced, though Agoda is cheaper. It has passed its heyday. Breakfast was miserable: pork noodle soup, white sliced bread, butter, water and one juice. The receptionist had said fried eggs and pan-fried eggs would be available, and there was nothing like the “fabulous breakfast” mentioned in an earlier review. I suspect the earlier positive comments were from shillers. Strike this hotel off your list.
