U Home Hotel

There was a 711 right across the street, and my room was clean and comfortable. The staff were really nice too. I had a really nice stay in Nakhon Phanom, and the whole experience was great!

The staff were incredibly friendly and spoke English very well. One man there even spoke great German. They helped get my laundry done in a couple of hours, the cheapest and fastest service ever. It felt like being welcomed by old friends. They also took us on a free river cruise and let us party with them at New Year, also for free. There’s great art on every floor, and the place was nice and clean. We’ll be back. Thank you all!

The room was clean and affordable, with strong WiFi and an okay air conditioner. There’s no AC in the bathroom, and the hotel is close to the bus station. An elderly couple sell the best Issan-style BBQ meat on sticks every day, for 5 and 10 baht, along with sticky rice and bottled water. Get up around 7am, though, because they sell out quickly.

The bed was comfortable, and the linen and pillows were excellent. I also appreciated the glass shower screen, plenty of on-site parking, and the lift. The building is modern, with a fairly standard layout for the price, and the room had most of what we needed. When we arrived for a couple of nights during the fireboat festival, reception knew me by name and had the paperwork ready. The welcome was warm and efficient, and the staff were friendly and had some English, as others have mentioned. The lighting was either very bright overhead or a single, much-too-dim side light. Something in between would have been nice. Breakfast leaned heavily Thai, with little for a Western palate, though I don't really expect them to cater for us farang when I was the only one there. The hotel is a little way from the riverside attractions, but transport should be easy to find. We had our own.
