Hermitage Hotel Korat Sha

I've already stayed here twice, and it's very affordable, especially since breakfast is included. I like vintage style, so the old hotel doesn't bother me at all. The staff are welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. The pool is my favorite part. It's big and deep, great fun for swimming, and there's a separate one for kids. On arrival it can seem very quiet, which may catch you off guard, but you can pull your car right up to the lobby to unload before parking, which is handy. My room was spacious, the bed was super comfortable, and I loved that the TV had Netflix. If you're an international guest worried about communication, I'd suggest using ChatGPT with the staff. It worked great for me. A couple of small things could be better. The two pillows were a bit flat, and I'd love four instead, especially for movie nights. Replacing the shower curtain might also improve the bathroom and how clean it feels. I'll definitely be back.

At 900 baht with breakfast, it's okay for a “GHOST HOTEL.” Coming in from the road, the place seemed deserted enough that I wondered if I'd taken a wrong turn. Then I saw all the empty buses, and had thoughts of people arriving and never leaving. Even at the ramp up to reception there was no one around. The first guest we spotted looked like a ghost, but once we reached the counter, I could see how magnificent the place must once have been. It left me in awe. The rooms are basic, with no coffee, small towels, or safe, and only one pillow. The pool is good and the water is cold, but the wet deck system is damaged, so be careful with kids. Breakfast is basic but okay, and there are plenty of good places to eat out front.

This was the worst hotel nightmare of my life. The place in person looks so different from the pictures on Agoda, and staying here was horrible. The bathroom made me wonder if a crime had happened there before, the floor was cracked, and the bed moved around easily. There was no phone available. The parking lot was full of dry leaves. The internet and Wi-Fi were both painfully slow.

This grand old hotel could have been, and probably once was, outstanding. Sadly, it's very tired now and seems poorly managed.
