It's a basic place, but it's got what you need and the price is very reasonable. I really liked the outdoorsy, hippy feel, and both the guests and staff were lovely. Hanging out with other guests in the riverside garden was great. Bring mosquito spray. I'd recommend one of the outdoorsy bungalow beds, which come with a mosquito net.

I only booked one night, but stayed for nine and would have stayed longer if I hadn't had a flight. The AC room was clean and quiet, and I slept well. The fan rooms also sounded comfortable from other guests' feedback. There are different room types, and the place is basic and cheerful for the price, with more than I expected for what I paid. The hostel feels quirky, a little rough around the edges, but welcoming and homely. The garden is a great place to relax, especially at night, with crickets, a river view, bamboo platforms and deck chairs. The staff were lovely, and the people running the place stay there, so someone was usually around to help. It felt safe, with people around most of the time. A metal shutter keeps people from entering after 9pm unless they have a gate fob, and there are CCTV cameras around. There are two showers and three bathrooms, all clean. One shower had hot water. Nearby are large and small supermarkets and local restaurants, and there's plenty to explore across the bridge. I'd definitely come back.

A great place in cnx if you're after that old 90s backpacker feel. The garden by the river has laid-back vibes and open-minded people. It's affordable and the accommodation is in line with the price, so don't expect luxury. You do get a bed, hot showers, and free water and coffee.

For the price, this can be a decent cheap option for a single night, and I can't complain too much about what I paid. The common area has tables and a couch, and there's laundry, lots of outdoor drying racks, and luggage storage. The location was okay, around a 30-minute walk from the old city. Still, I wish I'd known what to expect. The hostel felt neglected. The garden was dirty and poorly maintained, despite having a lot of potential. Our double room was so cramped that we could barely fit in together. There was a small table and chair for belongings, but no clothes hangers, so we had to put everything on the floor. The sheets were stained when we arrived, and the curtains were very dirty. You have to remove your shoes to go upstairs, but the floors and stairs were dusty. On our second night, we also had a bad experience with insects in the room.
