The Imperial Hotel & Convention Centre Korat

The front desk staff were sharp and professional, and the hotel is a great deal at about 1/3 of what you'd pay in BKK. The lobby, restaurant, and grounds are impressive, but staff training can be more like 3 star than 5 star. I had coffee in the lobby and the young waiter handed me the bill and rushed off, probably because he had other things to do. In the beautiful breakfast area, the fried eggs on display were cold, as per Thai practice. I asked a nice lady for two warm fried eggs, and she refried two cold ones especially for me.

The breakfast is a must, and the rooms are large with Western style beds. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. It's right next to NBK nightmarket, with a large parking lot.

Rooms are a bit dated, but the price is reasonable for what you get. The hotel is in a great spot for getting around, with plenty of food nearby, and it also serves a wide range of food and drinks itself. The breakfast spread is extensive and good quality, and the staff provide good service.

The night market is a block away, with an ATM nearby, and 7-11 and Amazon cafe are about a 5 min walk. I stayed at the Imperial Hotel in Korat for 2 weeks. It's clean, and the staff are pretty good, though the hotel feels dated, like a US 4 star place from 30-40 years ago. The old furniture made the room feel a little rough, but the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was cold. Housekeeping kept things pretty clean. By Thailand standards, it's decent. The breakfast wasn't great unless you like Asian food. They can make omelets or scrambled eggs to order, but there are no pork products. The coffee was terrible, though the bar can make better coffee. The gym is small and very hot, with some weight equipment and two treadmills. Walking or running around the perimeter is about 1/4 mile. The shower was hot, almost scalding, in the morning, but cold to Luke warm in the afternoon.
