Chic inn Nan

For 550B through Agoda, this was good value, and I’d probably return for a night in Nan. For a longer stay, I might choose somewhere nearer the centre. The neighborhood is very quiet, the common areas were spotless, and the staff were friendly. I especially liked the upstairs seating area and the reception’s 24/7 coffee and cookies. The guesthouse is older and sits a little outside town. Rooms are basic but clean, though there’s no elevator for luggage to the second floor. There were ants in the bathroom, which seems common in Thailand, and a slight toilet-water scent. Room cleaning seemed limited to surfaces, with a thick layer of dust behind the TV. Parking is limited, and some motorcycle riders took up a whole car space since there’s no assigned motorcycle parking.

My three highlights were the warm welcome at reception, the spacious, fully equipped room, and the coffee corner. It had biscuits, coffee and Ovomaltine, plus spare plates and cutlery for eating on the small terrace. The Pantip is in a quiet part of Nan, but Esso gas station, 7Eleven and Big C are close by. It’s clean and comfortable, the service is good, and the price is reasonable. Highly recommended.

The water from both the taps and shower has a strong sulfur smell, and the beds were much too soft for my family. The place was clean and reasonably priced, though it’s somewhat out of the way.

We slept really well here. It’s quiet at night, and both the owner and staff were friendly. A great base for a few days of exploring Nan.
