Nongkhai Resort

The bungalow my wife and I had was basic, but clean, with no bad smells, and fine for the occasional night. The place seems to have become tired and run down. It may once have been a lovely resort, and some refurbishment could bring it back, but in its current condition I can’t recommend staying here. There are plenty of worse places, but this one needs work.

The room was clean and good enough for what I paid, though it felt a bit cramped for two adults and two children. This place is opposite Nongkhai train station. It seems like it used to be a very nice resort, but the poor economy and train travelers, who may be its target guests, could have contributed to the business declining. Fine for travelers who just need somewhere to sleep for a night before moving on.

Right opposite Nongkhai Train Station, this can be a handy stop if you’ve just arrived by train and are tired of searching for somewhere to stay. The room was clean, there’s a swimming pool, and breakfast and WiFi are free. The WiFi felt too slow for videos or games, though it was okay for email and social media, just my personal opinion. Depending on the room, the TV may not have an HDMI connection for your own TV box or mini PC. Could work as a temporary place while you look for another hotel or resort.

We stopped in for a swim before catching our train to Bangkok. The pool only cost 60 baht, and the place was quiet and clean.
