Leaves Valley Resort

We had dinner at the resort restaurant and all really enjoyed it, especially with the hills and sunset in view. The breakfast was less satisfying: my partner and I both left the frankfurter-style sausages, and she left the toast too, since it was still white and more like warm bread. The eggs and salad were okay. Our room was very spacious, with a balcony and a good-sized bathroom that had both a full bath and a separate shower cubicle. Housekeeping and front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. We spent a short weekend break there and left Monday afternoon. We tried the ATV, archery and pistol shooting, and used the excellent swimming pool, which also has two children's pools. The river was too low for rafting, though we found a great spot at a nearby national park where the river was in full flood. It’s a large complex, and I suspect much of its business comes from conferences. About 150 guests arrived on the day we left. We practically had the place to ourselves and saw only two other guests, so weekends are probably the best time to go.
