Banyan Bay Villas

The homemade roti and masaman curry were excellent, and Bastian the owners son was friendly and shared a few tips for exploring the island. We rented a bike for 300 bhat for a day and rode around. They paid for the taxi to the resort and arranged an open air taxi back to the pier, which was a funny ride. The only downside was the very unstable WiFi inside our room. We spent two nights at this peaceful, family-run resort overlooking a quiet private beach, with lovely views and lots of greenery. We saw hermit crabs, monkeys, a friendly sea otter, and three adorable dogs. Two of the dogs even like swimming with guests. The whole atmosphere felt calm and natural. I absolutely loved the stay and would come back anytime.

The island is small and unspoilt, with only local and family-run restaurants and shops. It's an amazing location, but don't come expecting a fast pace or party atmosphere. My wife and I had our best holiday ever here and wish we'd stayed longer, before travelling on to Koh Lanta.

At Lotus Villa, we were close to both the sea and a pool. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, sorting everything out for us. We had a wonderful massage and great food, and we'd really like to return sometime.

We fell in love with the sweet dogs, and the food was outstanding. Everything we ate was delicious, especially the steamed fish and pomelo salad. The beds were very comfortable and the a/c was strong. With a private beach, a small pool, and different lounge chairs and hammocks by the water, the location was perfect. Banyan Bay felt like home because every staff member was so kind and welcoming. I miss it already and would come back in a heartbeat!
