Koh Jum Family Homestay

We had a small New Year’s Eve get-together in the common area by the sea, talking and having a few drinks without disturbing anyone. A larger beach is only a few minutes away. We really enjoyed the homestay and Koh Yao Yai, with its calm, friendly, authentic feel. It suited our group and anyone after a peaceful, personal stay. We booked through Booking.com, and check-in was easy. Mr. Rabbit opened the door, handed us the keys and made us feel welcome. The place is simple, but it worked very well for our group. Six friends slept in the outdoor sleeping area, which was surprisingly comfortable in the light evening breeze and pleasant temperatures. My wife and I had the private bedroom with its own bathroom and air conditioning. The AC worked well, though sleeping outside was comfortable too. The small kitchen has a refrigerator, kettle, rice cooker and hot plate. We made instant noodles with the kettle, which was handy. Mr. Rabbit brought fresh coffee and sugar every morning. There are two bathrooms, one in the air-conditioned bedroom and one behind the kitchen, and both worked perfectly. We could choose when to have breakfast, and it was freshly prepared each morning. Mr. Rabbit also helped us with plans on the island, contacting a boat rental for us and suggesting a beautiful, quiet private beach that became a highlight of the trip. We’d happily return.
