The Haven Krabi

We ended up extending our stay because the villa was peaceful, cozy, beautiful, and unforgettable. It was clean and about a 15-minute drive from Ao Nang Beach. There are nearby shops and a Lotus supermarket for BBQ supplies. The owner provides charcoal and tongs. Around the villa are village houses, and the cliff scenery is lovely. We enjoyed riding around the area to see the villas, and a beautiful kitten kept us company during our stay. Friendly staff, especially Atiporn. A few things to know: bring an international plug adapter. There are lots of insects, including lizards, roaches, and flies, but it was okay for us. The pool is quite deep, so it’s not for families with small children, though there is another villa with slides for kids. The campsite next to our villa has one washer and one dryer, each costing 50 baht per spin. Detergent isn’t provided.

The mountain view is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is wonderful. They provide BBQ equipment, and staff can even prepare all the ingredients for you. This pool villa really impressed me. Highly recommended.

The rooftop has beautiful views of the Krabi cliffs, and we were able to rent bikes from them too. Ao Nang Beach and the landmark night markets are about 10 minutes away, near the centre of Ao Nang. Service was great during our amazing stay. They also arranged the Swan towels exactly as requested for Valentine’s Day, and made them look beautiful. Everything we needed was there. Definitely recommend staying here.

By 8:30 the next morning, the host was offering a refund, but had no advice about where our group of five should go. We’d spent the night trying to find somewhere at such short notice and had no luck. The host was cold, kept telling us to stop searching, pay for the previous night’s transportation, and leave by 11am. I’m assuming they intended to relist the villa that night without actually fixing the sewage problem. There was no apology or consideration, and we were left with all our luggage waiting to check into another Airbnb. This was the worst stay I’ve had in Asia. The villa looked beautiful when we arrived late the previous night. About an hour later, when our group started showering, a strong sewage smell came up from the bathroom drains and wouldn’t go away. I contacted the host and got no response. We had to stay overnight with the smell. The host then told us there was no smell, despite an Airbnb review from two weeks earlier describing the same problem. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
