Baan Aew Pai

A nice, clean place with good AC and hot water. The minibar was stocked, which was nice. The mattress is really firm, though I’m getting used to that in Thailand. I’m staying here again next week.

The garden was lovely and the location was quiet. It’s not a fancy place, but the bed was comfortable and the hot water worked. The shower could have been cleaner. For one night, it was worth the price.

The staff were rude or just plain stupid, and the taxi mix-up nearly made us miss our bus to Chiang Mai. In pouring rain, I asked them to order a taxi for the two-minute drive to Walking Street. The Thai man with glasses at reception said it would arrive in five minutes. When we asked him again 15 minutes later, he acted surprised that we wanted a taxi, even though I’d already spoken with him and he’d said he was ordering one. We ended up walking for 10 minutes through a heavy rainstorm. The room was hot, and the air conditioner clearly didn’t work well. The fridge didn’t work either. The electricity kept cutting out, leaving the rooms dark so we couldn’t see or charge our phones. With no power there was no hot water. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but the service here was honestly awful. It may be cheap, but saving a few baht wasn’t worth it. It ruined the end of our stay in Pai.

Such a cute, cozy room, and really comfortable too :) Everything was clean, it stayed quiet at night, and the staff were all very friendly and ready to help. They can make up the room daily :) Definitely worth the money. I’ll stay here again when I come back to Pai.
