The rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the view is the kind that makes you want to stay here and never leave.

The balcony tub became my favorite place to unwind after exploring. I also enjoyed sitting at the balcony table with a quiet meal or a book, listening to the sounds of nature. Bring bubble bath if you’d like to make the soak even nicer. I was traveling solo without a vehicle, and the attentive staff made me feel cared for. Their easy drop-offs and pickups to the city center gave me peace of mind and made getting around simple. The grounds are full of lush greenery, and each morning I could look from my bed toward birds fluttering in the trees and mountains in the distance. It felt like a little slice of paradise. My stay was peaceful and rejuvenating, with warm hospitality and beautiful views. I’ll remember Chang Pai Hill Hotel fondly.

For $80 a night, arriving to find this place so run-down was upsetting. The website photos look like they were taken a couple of years ago, even though it has been operating since 2015. We saw young people passed out drunk or drugged in the lobby, and staff did nothing. The rooms are okay but need renovation, and the pool has a strong chemical smell. The view is nice, though a bit different from what the reservation app showed, with cellphone towers and housing in sight. They do offer a shuttle and deliver breakfast to your room. Still, you can get a nicer place for the same price elsewhere in Pai, closer to the walking street. I’d have been fine paying $30 a night, but not $80.
