Lilu Pai

For a budget hotel, this place really exceeded my expectations. I stayed in room number 11, the mini suite on the ground floor at the very back. It was modern, spacious, spotless, and blissfully quiet even though the hotel is very central. It had everything I needed, including a workstation, mini-fridge, and kettle. The WiFi was great, even for Zoom meetings. The mattress was really comfortable, not rock-hard like some Asian mattresses, and the shower had strong pressure and unlimited hot water. The staff were lovely, helpful, and kind, and housekeeping did a great job. Breakfast was a nice extra: basic but satisfying, and included in the price. I loved it, highly recommended ❤️

When I visited Pai in November 2025, I stayed at Lilu hotel. It’s within walking distance of all the happening places. The rooms were clean and good, and the restaurant was decent too. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable stay in Pai.

The location is excellent, just a walk from Pai Walking Street. I had a comfortable stay, and the hotel folks helped me plan tours around Pai and find vegetarian breakfast options. I also really liked the turmeric body wash in the shower.

The room smelled strongly of mold and cigarettes, and after 30 minutes I was feeling unwell and couldn’t stay any longer. I asked the owner to move me to another room, but they refused and said there was no smell. I ended up having to find another hotel that same evening. Booking didn’t refund anything, of course. Be careful and avoid this place.
