Not sure what the mediocre reviews are about. For the money, this place is great: clean pool, a big clean room with a huge bathroom, and very fast wifi. The bed has the standard Thai firmness. A scooter is better for getting around from here, but town is still walkable. Go for it!

I don't recommend staying here. The place has changed its name to Pai Family Resort, but it still seems to be maintained by the same people. It didn't feel friendly or like somewhere I'd bring a family. I booked through Agoda and came by around 8:30a to look at the property, not to check in. There wasn't a person in sight, staff or guests. I walked around hoping to find someone and see the facilities. The rooms had keys in the doors, so I let myself into one. It was just OK, not especially bad, but very outdated. The pool was so dirty I wouldn't get in. The grass needed mowing, the property needed a good cleaning, and the aquarium was so grimy I couldn't tell if there was anything in it. I didn't want to stay, and the visit wasted my time, energy, and money. Agoda listed the booking as nonrefundable. That morning, before check-in, I contacted them and said: “I messaged the

The area was lovely and the price was good. I was given a larger room, which felt especially roomy since I was travelling alone, and the staff were kind and friendly. Town is a short walk away, though I got lazy and rented a moped instead. There was some upgrading work right beside my room, but it didn’t bother me. I think Pai is full of construction at the moment as it expands quickly. The roosters were another matter, so I wore earplugs. They worked, and I still slept in every morning 😊

The room was clean and comfortable, and the owner and staff were friendly and helpful. It’s around a 15-minute walk to the town center, or just a couple of minutes by scooter. The main drawback was a rooster crowing constantly from morning through the day, so sleeping in or taking an afternoon nap was out. The shower’s hot water was weak too.

We had a lousy stay. The service was bad, and the rooms felt low quality: the paint was peeling from the walls, and there was nowhere to put shampoo or toilet paper in the bathroom. It had no ventilation, the towels looked used, and they didn’t refill the toilet paper or water at any point during our stay. I wouldn’t recommend it.
