Pai Nai Fun Resort

I was in bungalow #2, and we're not ever staying here again. My wife's body is covered in welts after bed bug bites, and it just isn't worth the money. It feels like a scam, with minimum care given. The bed was super hard and left my hips and back hurting. At night roaches came from the shower drain and roamed the bathroom floor. The sink leaked onto the floor when used, and there was no room service. You make your own bed and have to go to reception for toilet paper. Breakfast had no brewed coffee, just coffee powder, and was either soupy rice or a plate of cold eggs, so don't reserve it here. Cross the bridge and eat at a restaurant. There was no crew maintaining the garden or lawns, which were overgrown and an easy place for snakes to hide. Parking a car was difficult and too tight to maneuver. The bamboo patios were rotten and seemed like an accident waiting to happen, someone could soon fall through and get hurt. In the shower, choosing hot water meant no pressure, while choosing pressure meant no hot water. You couldn't have both.

The value was good, and after the odd checkout everything went smoothly at reception. Before checkout time, I was taking my things to the car when a random lady asked for my room key. I hesitated, but she insisted, so I handed it over. It made checkout more stressful than usual.

At $42, it felt a bit overpriced. The room was okay and the bed was fine, but the shower head was broken and the sink was cracked and could use replacing. The door didn't seal well and only had a push button lock, nothing else. The bamboo bridge to the walking street kept the music far enough away, but an outside pump seemed to pulse through the night. I'm a light sleeper. Breakfast was so-so, just instant coffee :(

The location is ideal, right by the river and bamboo bridge that goes straight to walking street, Jazz Club, and Cafe da Pai. There's parking too. A rock-hard bed and a shower you have to step into very carefully are worth bearing in mind.
