Pai Phu Fah

Pai Phu Fah is good value, with huts that have ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, and TVs. The owner was kind and helpful, and you’re surrounded by nature. Across the road there are lovely farm views and lots of cows grazing. Around the place, you’ll find swings, lush grass, and rice fields with mountains behind them. Breakfast is simple, just tea or coffee, toast, eggs, and fruit. The town is about an 8-minute bike ride away, and there’s parking on site.

For the price, the room was nice, and the woman working there was pleasant. The toilet was hard to flush, though that’s what you might expect at this kind of accommodation. Service was limited, and the location was just okay, about a 10-15 minute walk into town.

The worst problem was the rain coming through the room around 23:00. Water dripped onto us and the bed, formed puddles, and ran down the walls over electrical wiring. After that, the room smelled damp. They offered us another room, but it was even worse, with mould on the ceiling and water still dripping in. The place could be great with some care, but the rooms didn’t feel safe or secure. I wouldn’t recommend it. The first room was run down, the bedding was uncomfortable, and the shower had no hot water and wasn’t inviting.

The bungalows were lovely, clean, and well cared for. Mine had an electric kettle, which was a nice touch. Good price, too, and the morning view is hard to beat. A mosquito net would make it better.
