Prilpai Guesthouse

The little bungalows are cute, and the open-air bathroom lets you feel the cool air and nature around you. It's a bit of a distance from the walking street. In the morning there's tea, coffee, breakfast, and good service.

The beds and pillows were really comfortable, and the outdoor bathroom was fun to use. It felt private while showering, and soap, shampoo, towels, and drinking water were provided. Breakfast runs from 8:30 to 10, with eggs, tomatoes, toast, and tea, instant coffee, or Ovaltine. It's a lovely guesthouse for the price. It's a little away from most places, though only five minutes from the walking street by scooter. There's a hammock among the lush plants outside, and I did find a few ants and mosquitoes in the room.

The fan room suited Pai's cool winter nights, and everything was clean and relaxing. It was an easy, pleasant walk into town, while the setting just outside offered a quieter stay in nature. P'Jeep and the other staff were very helpful. P'Jeep even gave me a ride to rent a bike, saving me from the midday heat. A great choice if you want calm close to local attractions.

I was looking forward to staying here, but it was a real disappointment and not worth my time or money. The owners seemed to make no effort. My shower hadn't been cleaned, with an old shower cap left there and hair clogging the drain. The water was lukewarm to cold. The cafe is closed, and the free coffee came with a sugar jar swarming with ants.
