Brookhouse at Khaoyai

October 23, 2025. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were lovely. Some parts felt a bit old, though, haha. It was okay overall. I forgot to take pictures.

Glam 3 and Glam 4 are my picks, since they're beside the river and you can hear the weir at night. It makes for a lovely natural setting. There are lots of things to do, including kayaking with life jackets provided, and there's plenty of parking. Mosquitoes are a nuisance after dark, but they provide repellent. The tents are spaced out, though sound carries between them, and the mattresses are quite firm. The camping setup feels private, with a shared area for BBQs and a kitchen stocked with almost everything, from plates to a grill. The fridge is shared with the other rooms. Just wash and put everything back before checkout. Bathrooms were clean, and they provide Wi-Fi and a restaurant number. Breakfast is very local, such as rice porridge and fried dough sticks. Service could be better for longer stays. There's only one housekeeper, and trash and towels weren't changed often. The tents weren't cleaned regularly either. On Saturday and Sunday mornings the noise from Tara Cafe in Glam 3 can be irritating. The toilet in Glam 3 also has a very large opening at the top that could be smaller. Even with those issues, it was a great, private camping trip and I think it was good value.

The main draw is the peaceful riverside atmosphere, especially when the weather is cool. There are two tents, a large house, and a small house, but note that the two-story tents aren't right by the water, so check the listing or ask the owner before booking. Breakfast is very basic, just rice porridge in a bag with a paper bowl and plastic spoon. The view and surroundings matter more here than the accommodation itself.

I've returned many times and every stay has left me impressed. The atmosphere is lovely, and the accommodation is private and clean. If that's what you're after, I highly recommend it. ⛰️🌿
