The One House Resort PakChong

We spent one night here and enjoyed how different it felt from a Western-style resort. That made the stay more memorable and unique for me. The night market is fairly close, about a 10-15 minute walk. We picked up some local treats there and ate them with friends in the outdoor entertainment area just outside our room.

A clean room with a good bed, and a hotel that feels like a hidden gem. It's new and about eight minutes from Pak Chong night market. The narrow, rough little lane on the way in gives way to a completely different setting at the entrance and inside. S7 is upstairs on L2, reached by a spiral staircase, so big, heavy bags could be awkward. The room gets lots of daylight and has plenty of space. There's a walk-in "wardrobe" area with room for bags, a fridge and a basin, plus a separate shower and toilet. Free parking is split between a section by reception and another farther in near the rooms. There's plenty of space unless people double park. Everyone seems to get up early for breakfast, served 7-9am. The shared seating outside the rooms is handy for eating night market food or hanging out as a group. Some groups were inconsiderate and laughed and talked loudly after 11:30pm, though families with young kids may already be asleep then. Staff could remind guests to keep the noise down after a certain hour.

I generally give hotels high ratings, but I have to score this one low. The room was 20 sqm, despite Agoda describing it as 28. They showed me another room at the same price, but it was even smaller. The TV only had Thai channels, with nothing in English, and breakfast was very basic with too few options, especially for vegetarians. The value for money was very poor.

We stayed in a clean, cozy duplex. Its upper level is a separate bedroom, with the living area and restroom downstairs. Breakfast was good too.
