The porch is shady even at the hottest part of the day, and there’s a little breeze. All you hear are birds and chickens. It’s a peaceful place with everything we need, and our cat is welcome. We’ve already been here two weeks and are staying two more. We walk along the beach twice a day and often eat at Phoenix across the street. The host is so accommodating. I’d especially recommend it if, like me, you prefer to avoid sensory overload.

The hosts were wonderful, and the place was a perfect stay, especially with a pet. Our room was clean, the surroundings quiet, and my dog loved having a small garden to walk and play in. It’s also close to the beach and some nice cafes. When my dog got sick and was vomiting during our second night, we found a 24-hour emergency vet about 20 minutes away by car. We accidentally spoiled some towels, and the host was understanding. The host’s parents were helpful and friendly too, and you can book snorkeling tours through them. We used the laundry service at 7 baht per item. On checkout day, my dog’s ball fell into the river where we couldn’t reach it, but the kind Uncle and housekeeper got it out with a long stick.

We meant to stay one night and ended up extending. The cottages feel homey, with pretty decor, good equipment, a full-size fridge in the balcony kitchen, and really comfortable beds. The hosts are so friendly and make you feel welcome. The area is relaxing and friendly too. Phoenix bar and restaurant nearby is beautifully built and makes great cocktails. Their mojito is one of the best I’ve tried, and I’ve had plenty.

We only booked one night, but could easily have stayed longer. This little remote town turned out to be beautiful, and the accommodation was even better than expected. The owners were fabulous, the grounds lovely, and the rooms clean with comfortable beds. We stumbled across the local market, had amazing doughnuts, and went back for more. Then we found Phoenix restaurant on the beach, which was another big surprise.
