Hangover Inn

I’m not much of a Patong fan, but this hotel is on a quiet side street and has a good connection. The room was clean, and the service was basic but generally nice. A couple things need attention: the toilet smelled, the fridge couldn’t be used because there were no plugs available, and the TV didn’t work. For a two-day stay in Patong, I’d recommend it.

The menu has good vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and the ginger licking, mouth-watering taste was great. Add nostalgic Bollywood music and the hot Phuket sun, and it’s a lovely combination. Worth trying if you’re near Patong beach and craving authentic Indian taste.

The one real plus is the location, on a relatively quiet street and fairly close to the city center. Otherwise, I didn’t like this place. It’s basic and outdated, the TV didn’t work, and cleaning wasn’t up to scratch. You have to ask for clean towels yourself. The staff didn’t seem very service-minded, and some of their rules are really messed up. One night we came back with takeaway from another restaurant and got stopped at reception. They told us we couldn’t eat it in our room and would have to come downstairs to eat in their restaurant. I’d paid for the stay and think I should be able to have food and drinks in my room. When we were leaving, a pickup had been arranged for 2:30am. The receptionist was asleep, which is fair enough in the middle of the night. But after we woke him, he didn’t even bother turning on the lights because, apparently, it was his sleeping time. What kind of service is that?

The restaurant had a variety of really delicious dishes, and the service was very good. We stayed here while in Phucket, and the location worked well for going to the beach or heading out at night. The hotel felt like fair value for the price.
