Star House Hotel was quiet enough for a good night's sleep, despite being close to shops, restaurants, and key attractions. It felt like good value, with comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and excellent service. The reception team made a great first impression. They were welcoming, professional, and kind, and the receptionist shared useful local tips and got check-in done quickly. Everyone was attentive and ready to help with a smile from check-in through check-out. My room was spotless, well equipped, and comfortable. The clean, refreshing pool and its lounging area were a highlight for relaxing in the afternoon. Breakfast had a tasty mix of local and international dishes, fresh fruit, and hot food that was regularly replenished. I especially liked drinking coffee while enjoying the beautiful view from my room. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We had a very disappointing stay. Staff accused us of cracking a small table after we’d moved it slightly, but the damage was already there and we didn’t break anything. Even after we explained, they demanded 2000 Thai Baht without proper proof. It felt unfair and unprofessional. Check the furniture and room condition when you arrive, and take photos to avoid this kind of situation.

There was a strong, unpleasant smell at reception from the start, and I saw bugs or insects running around the property. That’s unacceptable and suggests a lack of basic hygiene. My security deposit wasn’t returned even though I left the room in good condition, and nobody explained why. The stay was very disappointing. I don’t recommend this place and won’t stay here again.

We paid the owner 10,000 baht in cash for the stay and another 6,000 baht as a security deposit. The online listing had called it a 5-star hotel, but after seeing the room we found it was a 3-star hotel. There was no glass in the shower, the room stank, the faucet was broken, and the air conditioning was noisy. The owner won’t refund the money and says he doesn’t work with Agoda. He also gave us no receipt for the cash payment.
