The Top Patong Resort

For a budget hotel, the basics were covered, and it looked like the photos. The pool was working, the staff were nice, and having the restaurant next door was handy. The location was great, close enough to walk into the busy area but just far enough out to avoid most of the noise. There’s no lift, so getting luggage to the top floor was a pain. The bath had no plug or shower curtain, though they provided extra towels for the floor. The water also wasn’t very hot.

At midnight I needed clean sheets, but the only worker supposedly available was out clubbing. They blamed me for the dirty sheets and told me I’d have to sleep in them until housekeeping came the next day. I called 20 times, as shown in the screenshots, and still got no help. That was one of several problems during our three-night booking. After midnight, they won’t assist you, and you’re left to fend for yourself. I’d rather sleep on an airport floor than stay here, even if other hotels were fully booked. Top Patong resort is far worse than a motel 6.

We’d been in Thailand for a month, and this was the worst and most expensive hotel we’d stayed in. The bathrooms had what seemed like a song, and the rooms smelled bad. There’s no pool, despite it being promised everywhere, and none of the photos matched what we saw. The hotel presents itself beautifully online, but reality was the opposite. On arrival, they refused to cancel our reservation unless we gave up the full amount. I absolutely don’t recommend it.

The pool they advertised wasn’t there. The area was all dirt and didn’t even look like they were rebuilding it. In the room, the shower was just a tub setup with no proper shower head or curtain, so water ended up all over the bathroom floor each time. Broken blinds let the morning light straight in. The front desk staff were rude and wouldn’t even acknowledge me in the morning or when we passed them. For the price, this hotel fell far short of expectations. I’d spend a bit more for somewhere much better. This has to be one of the worst hotels in Patong.
