The location was the only part I found OK. I felt completely ripped off, especially since a night here costs more than well-known Patong hotels like the Courtyard or Sheraton. The room was basic but acceptable. It smelled strongly of stale cigarettes throughout my stay, had mold on the shower curtain, and the soap dispenser was empty, leaving only little individual packets. Thin windows let in a lot of noise. Cleaning staff never came to clean the room. Was I meant to ask? Reception was often unattended. On arrival I waited 20 minutes for someone to show up, then got checked in in a very casual, nonchalant way. The room still uses old-fashioned keys instead of key cards. For this level of service and quality, the price is far too high. I really don’t understand the positive reviews and suspect some may not be authentic.

The people here made us feel at home. Everyone was kind and ready to help, especially Bee, who went out of her way for us and was always smiling. We’ll miss the four adorable cats outside the place, too. Patong XL Hotel is close to everything while still being quiet and comfortable. The price felt fair, and we’d definitely return on our next visit. Highly recommended.

Friendly, attentive staff and good service. The location is convenient enough. There’s no lift, so keep that in mind. We paid about £41 a night in early December, and the hotel agreed to our request for a slightly later checkout.

Everything about our Patong stay was very good, I loved it. The location is handy for Jangceylon BigC Shopping center and 7-11, though the beach and Bangla are about 3 km away. The restaurant was good, and the room was clean enough. There are motorbikes and cars for rent by the alley entrance, but parking is only available for motorbikes.
