Areca Lodge

The breakfast was good, but the internet rarely worked. I told the front desk, and they didn’t seem very interested. The pool area was dirty too. During our 14 days there, it wasn’t washed down at night, so our feet got filthy walking between the sunbeds and pool. I only saw pool staff clean the tables twice the whole time. It would be better if they walked around, served people, cleaned up, and collected used glasses. There’s a sign asking guests not to reserve sunbeds, but the rule seems to apply differently to different people. The place generally needs maintenance, but things are left. Still, it’s a great place to stay.

A fantastic place for your crazy days in Pattaya. The staff were lovely, everything was clean, and the pool was really nice. The gym looked perfect, though we didn’t wake up in time to use it, or get to breakfast. Our room was quiet too, with no bar music coming through. The location was fantastic.

Our room was comfortable and had a decent amount of space, plus a clothes drying rack. The breakfast was great, with lots of options, and there are two pools with plenty of chairs. We were in the middle building, which was quiet from street noise at night, though sometimes we heard people above or next door. There are plenty of food options, self-service laundry, and a 711 nearby. The room didn’t have the bath shown in the booking photos. The area has many bars and massage parlors that aren’t child-friendly. It seemed like lots of men brought paid “dates” back to the hotel at night. Traffic gets wild in the evening, making it impossible to get a taxi. At breakfast we had to listen to two older British men talk lewdly about a woman they’d shared the night before. It was really gross. As a couple with no interest in that scene, we wouldn’t stay again, based on the clientele alone. We’ll stay farther north near Terminal 21 instead.

This is my second stay, and the hotel has added AC to the gym since my last visit, which is a real improvement. The room was OK, but the bed rocked whenever either of us moved, even slightly. I also didn’t like the raised wooden platform it sat on, which made getting out of bed awkward. The corridors have no AC, so even the short walk to breakfast made me a little sweaty. And guests claiming pool sunbeds with towels left there from the night before is really lousy behavior. The hotel should put a stop to it.
