I booked without reserving ahead and still got a good price on a large room. The place felt safe and was quiet enough for a good night's sleep, since it's not right by the pubs and bars. Walking Street is about a 2-minute walk and the beach around 5 minutes away. Being on the main road also makes taxis and other transport easy to get. Food and drinks are available at the hotel, though they cost less outside. The large rooms really are spacious, but they're old. It's an affordable stay, and I was satisfied overall. A few drawbacks: rooms aren't cleaned every day, and I had to keep following up with staff. There's no elevator, so expect to carry your luggage up the stairs unless you're travelling light. The hotel has no laundry service either, but there's one nearby, just a street away.

The only good thing was being close to Walking street. The welcome was very friendly, but after that the stay was catastrophic. Our rooms were cleaned just once in 8 days. We got no fresh towels, the beds weren't made, and the bathrooms weren't cleaned. The rooms themselves were in poor condition, and the pictures are dated. I wouldn't give this place a star.

The room was really comfortable, though there was a bad smell that faded a little. The restaurant is great, and I can't fault either the service or the location. I'd stay here again.

The location is the best part, close to Walking Street and all the activity there. It's affordable, but with facilities this poor it doesn't feel worth the money. The rooms are very cramped, there's no lift, and the stairwell and corridors are dark with no lights. Staff aren't friendly, especially toward Indian travellers. I'd only recommend it for solo travellers, not groups.

The location is really nice, very close to Walking street. The hotel itself is average, and the staff weren't very cooperative. You'll need to carry your own luggage up to the 3rd floor.
