D Hotel Pattaya

I’ve stayed in boutique hotels, five-star places and Airbnbs over the years, and I’m a Platinum member of Qatar Airways. I’m also a seasoned traveler who has never written a negative review before. Usually I don’t want to hurt a business over things that aren’t perfect, but this left me speechless and other guests should know about it. I had a valid booking, yet a receptionist pounded on my door so violently it sounded as if she might break through. When I opened it, she yelled that she’d call the police unless I left immediately. I told her to call them. She didn’t. After I gave her the Agoda booking number she requested and showed the confirmation on my phone, she must have seen that my reservation was active. I’d been given a lower-category room, but hadn’t complained about that. At checkout she acted as though the incident hadn’t happened and offered no apology. I’d also asked for an airport taxi at a specific time, giving her the details about 45 minutes before checkout so it could be arranged ahead. She only called after I’d checked out, and because of the Songkran festivities there was no car available. I didn’t get her name. She was the oldest receptionist there, I’d guess in her late 40s.

A good budget option in a handy location, and the rooftop pool is nice. My only concern is that some rooms need new shower heads. In one of them I could barely shower.

The staff were fantastic and really helpful. Nice room, good location, everything was good.

It’s a centrally located hotel tucked into a quiet cul-de-sac. The prices do seem to be creeping up, though.
