I eventually got my money back from Agoda, but it took a lot of hassle. I can imagine plenty of people would have given up, and I’m reluctant to use Agoda again. I’d booked and paid several weeks ahead through Agoda. When I arrived, reception said Expedia had cancelled the reservation and showed me an email saying so. I hadn’t cancelled it. I later learned Expedia was apparently an Agoda affiliate, which I hadn’t known. I called Agoda, and the agent seemed puzzled, confirmed the booking was still valid, spoke with the hotel, and said they’d pay. A few days later the hotel told me they still hadn’t been paid and demanded payment from me, so I paid.

A robbery was committed in my hotel room, number 35, on 05/16/2025 at around 10 am. I went to breakfast after being asked when I planned to check out. I said I was leaving for the airport at 11 am. When I returned at 10, the administrator wouldn’t let me into my room. She seemed scared and spoke on the phone in Thai, trying to hold me back. I realized something was wrong and rushed to the room. My things had been rummaged through and stolen from. I couldn’t wait for the police because I had a flight out of Thailand, and the staff took advantage of that. I’ve been a client of your hotel for several years and always left tips for cleaning. This is what I got in return. Please check the camera recordings and fire the staff currently working. I’ll finish my business and come back to Thailand to deal with this. I won’t let it go unpunished.

I went in expecting an ordinary place for the price, but my stay surprised me. The room was spacious, clean, had a private balcony and faced the street. It smelled really nice when I walked in. The Wi-Fi was steady and fast enough for online work, and there was a microwave, kettle, and fridge. The pool area felt private and relaxing, with lovely decor. I had a very nice stay and would come back if I can.

The last two times I stayed here, a child who screams constantly and is always in the pool on weekends and holidays made the place unbearable. It’s really annoying.
