Highfive Hotel

The price was incredible for what you get, and I was impressed. Coming from the United States, I really appreciated how welcoming and kind everyone at the hotel was. I'd recommend staying here.

The manager and the front desk guy were incredibly helpful with anything I asked about, and housekeeping kept my room tidy. I liked the corner room I upgraded to, with two balconies and double sliding glass doors. The fridge worked well, the bed was firm but comfortable, the TV had good cable choices including a few English movie channels, and the AC was cold. There was no safe or microwave, though, and the lack of a bathroom outlet was inconvenient. The rooftop pool is nice but could use more loungers for sunbathing. The hotel is one block from the beach and half a block from Central Pattaya mall. There are lots of entertainment options within an easy walk, and the mall is useful for its big food court and many restaurants. I'd stay again on my next visit, and hope the rooms get updated. By western standards, the hotel feels outdated, around two or three stars. The lighting was dim, the furniture very old, and there was street noise all night, but that didn't bother me.

The rooftop pool is just around the corner from central pavilion, and the beach is close by. The staff are great and the location is good. I wouldn't get a massage on the ground floor, though, go somewhere else.

The reception staff are accommodating, so ask if you need something and they'll do their best to help. Rooms are clean and well kept, and for the price they're a good fit, with lots of attractions nearby. The furniture looks pretty dated. The rooftop pool is a nice extra and feels private, though it's filled with regular tap water and could use some lighting at night. Bring your own soap, since none is provided. Drinks in the room are affordable, with Leo and Chang beers at 70 baht. A good stay for the money.
