Hotel Baraquda Heeton by Compass Hospitality

The breakfast was so good that I ended up eating there almost every day, even though I hadn’t paid for it in my room date. The room was quiet, the place was clean, guest friendly, and the decor was great. It’s right by Second Road, and the location can’t be beat. I may have gotten a discount, I’m not sure, but whatever I paid felt like terrific value. The staff were delightful, and the stay was flawless. One warning: outside the hotel near Second Road, people selling weight loss and hair growth cures with 7/11 honey and herbs may approach you from “Dubai.” Ignore them. One of the nicest hotel experiences I’ve had, and I’ll be back.

The breakfast was a daily highlight, fresh and delicious with plenty of variety. The hotel is close to everything we wanted to see, but still gave us a peaceful place to relax. Lalana, Pang, Nana, Max and Rang were especially welcoming, kind, and professional, and their smiles and help made the stay feel personal. We enjoyed every moment of our vacation here and would love to come back. Highly recommended for the hospitality.

The suite was run down, with exposed wiring, a dirty bathtub, and heavily worn furniture. The hotel also felt loud for its location. Front office staff and the reservation and shift manager came across as unfriendly and incompetent, with no basic customer service. Hotel Baraquda has become a dated, dirty dive, and the five stars it gives itself are laughable, three at best. It was a thoroughly unpleasant stay, and I’d never go back.

Fang at reception deserves a special thanks. She explained everything clearly and handled each request with a smile. We arrived to desserts and fresh fruit, and the hotel restaurant food was excellent too. Our room was roomy, very clean, and comfortable, and the beach is only a few minutes away. The staff were kind and welcoming. Had a fantastic stay, highly recommended!
