Nautical Inn

The staff were very nice, but the sea view is distant and seen through trees. The place smells of sewage as you walk around, and the online pictures are old and don’t show how dated and run-down it is. I arrived and quickly decided this wasn’t somewhere I wanted to stay, unless all I wanted was a quick walk to the beach.

The breakfast was quite good, and the location is great, set a little back from the busy street. The hotel itself wasn’t that great. The toilet wouldn’t flush properly, and after I called twice to get it fixed, the receptionist wasn’t very helpful.

It’s a good place to sleep while staying on the strip, and the location is great, slightly set back from the busy street. The hotel is definitely old, and I didn’t think the renovation others mentioned was much to speak of. On the first day, the bathroom door locked us out, apparently a common issue according to the front desk. They sent the bellboy, who used PVC pipe cutters to turn the lock pin. On our last day, the toilet stopped filling again. That’s about all it’s good for.

I’d heard this was a very historic hotel and wanted to look around and eat at the restaurant, but the entrance security wouldn’t let me in at first. Another staff member eventually let me enter, but then hotel staff didn’t want me looking around. They said I had to stay as a guest to see the hotel. It’s strange that they don’t welcome outside customers, since people coming to eat at the restaurant could bring in extra revenue. I was quite disappointed by how conservative the place is. It feels more like a police station than a hotel.
