OYO 829 Royal Thai Residence

I've lived in Pattaya for five years and this was the worst stay I've had in a building here. I booked for 15 days, but my room was cleaned just once. There was a full cleaning crew in the lobby whenever I saw them, seemingly doing nothing all day. When I asked about more frequent cleaning, they said it would cost 700 baht per cleaning. There wasn't even a broom in the room, so you'd have to buy one. The outside bins were regularly overflowing, and I saw two cockroaches in the shower room. With so little cleaning in the building, that wasn't surprising. Three or four times a week, neighbours burned plastic a few meters from the balcony area. The smell got inside even with the doors and windows shut. I left the room each time to avoid breathing it in, because it seemed really bad for my health. A construction site on the other side brought grinding and drilling from 07:00, my daily alarm clock. The people burning plastic had dogs and chickens, though strangely I didn't hear them during my two-week stay. There was also a very loud person above me. I heard heavy footsteps all day, plus banging and chairs dragging around, which made sleeping difficult. I mostly wore noise-cancelling headphones. The balcony table looked great and was why I chose the place, but the high building gets so much wind that eating out there was uncomfortable. Garbage and cigarettes from upstairs blew onto my balcony daily, leaving me another cleanup job. The nearest 7 eleven is a 15-minute walk away across a busy road. At night, there were dog gangs along the way, and they weren't friendly. Worst stay in years!
