Royal Prince Resort Pattaya Hotel

The location is convenient, opposite Pattaya Park Market, which is open from 12.00 until 00.00. It's within walking distance of Soi 5, then down the hill to the beach past the entertainment zone, where there are some nice coffee shops. I stayed two nights in a Deluxe King room. The bed was comfortable, though it was two beds pushed together, which I don't like. There were no drawers, and only four hangers in the hanging space, but there was a large safe. The TV had lots of international channels, although some didn't work or had poor reception. The shower was excellent, with good pressure and plenty of hot water. The balcony was small, with no table or chairs, even though the room had two dining room style chairs. The rooftop pool takes two sets of steps to reach, making it feel like an afterthought. The solarium is on a lower level beside the pool, with plenty of space and a number of lounge beds. Breakfast was a mixed bag. There wasn't much choice of bread or pastries, and the juice offerings were unusual. Both filter and machine coffee were available, and I thought the machine coffee was good. The food could have been warmer, though guests left the lids open. On the first morning, dishes could have been cleared faster; service was excellent on the second. I'd return, but not at full price. I got a discounted last-minute offer.

The night market is right beside the hotel, so it was easy to try local food and browse the stalls. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away. I stayed a few days while traveling around Thailand, and found the new hotel cozy. The downside was the number of drunk Russian guests. Their karaoke went on until the market closed at 1am, and I had trouble falling asleep.

Breakfast was good, especially the coffee machine, and the staff were lovely. I got a great Agoda price, and the hotel's quality is superb. I'd stay again, definitely, once they sort out a few small things. There’s almost nowhere to store anything: just an open clothes rail, no drawers, and no place for a suitcase except the floor. Even the bedside boxes have no drawers, so there’s nowhere for underwear. The bathroom has no towel hooks either. The light switches are confusing, with different light colours on the same switch, and after three days I still hadn’t found the main-light switch. Staff should show guests how the room works at check-in. Adding storage, towel hooks, and a folding suitcase stand would help.

The main drawback is that there aren't enough elevators. Otherwise, I found this new hotel, opened in 2025, very good value. Check-in is available 24 hours, the room was clean and spacious, and the air conditioning worked well. The bed was soft and comfortable, the bathroom was a good size, and a hair dryer was provided. The balcony is small, though I personally don't use it.
