The accident happened at a hidden hole near the hotel entrance, in a main area. I fell and seriously injured my leg, had to go to the hospital, and was prescribed antibiotics. I was told strictly to keep the wound dry and stay out of the water because of infection risk, which affected my whole vacation. The staff were kind at the time and drove me to the hospital, which I appreciated. I initially chose not to involve a lawyer. But about 30 minutes after checkout, a receptionist texted asking me to repay part of the hospital bill. That was shocking and unprofessional. I don't believe an injury caused by unsafe conditions on hotel property should be the guest's responsibility. Being asked for money after an accident I associate with poor maintenance has made me reconsider speaking with a lawyer. Your response to me focused on reimbursement details, but didn't address how the injury ruined a vacation I paid for. I was on antibiotics, barred from swimming, and had to care for the wound. I provided another hospital receipt today, and I have a further medical visit scheduled for Wednesday. I've paid all the expenses myself so far. This isn't just an accounting matter to me. It's about hotel responsibility, guest safety, and the impact on my stay. I expect all medical expenses to be reimbursed, along with appropriate compensation for the accommodation, since I couldn't enjoy it because of what happened on the property. I'm still open to settling this amicably, but it needs to be handled seriously and professionally. I wouldn't feel comfortable advising future guests to ignore safety concerns.
