A small room at a fair price, in a great location.
The owner was an elderly lady, and she was so friendly and kind that I really liked her. The location was excellent too, close to the pedestrian street and other nightlife, with a big square across the road where you could get authentic local food. The place is very cheap, but the facilities and surroundings are basic. The storefront is small and hard to spot, and it took me about half an hour to find it. I also had to climb a narrow staircase. Since it's right on the street, music from a bar at 2 AM made it impossible to sleep.
The renovated hotel is easy to miss in all the surrounding bustle. My room had little natural light, but I liked it and it worked well for a night owl. The bathroom is very minimal. Anyone with mobility impairments should know this place isn't suitable for them.
We stayed three nights, but the noise was too much for me. The hotel is next to a disco, and the street only gets quiet after 2 a.m. If you're there to party, it may suit you. I need my sleep, so I wouldn't recommend it for more than a stopover. The bathroom was too small, though everything was clean and booking was straightforward. It's okay for the price. There's no breakfast, so you have to eat out.
The room was small but had what I needed: Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a safe, and a refrigerator. The balcony was great, and my room was on the top floor, though there is no elevator. Finding the place can be tricky at first. To the left of the Sabai massage parlor, there's a barred gate leading to the rooms. You need to report your arrival at the massage parlor or ring the bell by the gate. At night, sleep was impossible because music from the pubs below blared up. When it rained, the tin roof sounded like drums.
