The Rest Hotel

We’ve been to Thailand more than ten times, and we’ve never had service this bad. When we first asked about staying a night, the receptionist said there were no rooms, even though websites showed availability. Only after we insisted did she admit there were rooms, but quoted a higher price, so we booked online. We asked to see one, and she refused, saying every room was full. Two minutes later someone else, maybe the owner, offered to show us a room. She also wouldn’t pick us up from the ferry and suggested we might come by scooter. The pipes in room 001 made such awful noise that we couldn’t sleep the first night. We reported it in the morning because reception closes early, before 8 pm, but nobody even apologized, and the problem wasn’t fixed. We moved upstairs, where the noise was still loud enough to make sleeping difficult. They continued putting people in that room without resolving it. Today we asked for a drop-off on the way to the pier, which they offer, and she said no. They wouldn’t pick us up or drop us off. The attitude was terrible. Avoid.

The owner is kind and helpful, and the staff are lovely. My room was clean and comfortable, with a peaceful feel, and breakfast is included. There’s a room for group stays too, which is convenient. This was my third stay, and I’m still very happy with the experience! 💖

The rooms are big and clean, with Venetian plaster finish. Breakfast was nice, and the staff lovely. There are a few bars right next door, and various beaches are about five minutes away.

The owner was very rude. He came into our room without knocking or calling first. As we were leaving, staff asked whether we’d left a towel behind. We asked what color it was, and when they checked with the owner, he told us to take it or leave it. Honestly, if you’re thinking of booking here, I’d suggest choosing somewhere else.
