Villa Thongbura

Our couple's room had a jacuzzi and pool access, and we had a fantastic stay. The pool was beautiful and clean. From outside, the hotel feels like a four-star property, with lots of trees, elegant, tasteful Thai architecture, and an outstanding family-friendly pool. The staff were sweet, and we were very impressed. Inside, some facilities feel a little old, though they're still in good condition. Breakfast could have been better: the buffet on the first day was alright, and the fried rice was really good. On the following days, probably because there were fewer guests, it changed to a set with only one menu of eggs, bacon, toast and sausages, with egg options. The hotel has a lot of potential to improve, and already has the resources. It's in a quiet area, within walking distance of the beach, convenience stores, bus station and good restaurants. That saved us taxi fares.

The pool was a highlight, especially the bubble lounge chairs right in the water and the swim-up bar at the main pool, which stays open from morning until evening. There were five of us in a top-floor unit with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and we had a great stay. Next time, I’d choose a ground-floor room with a door straight out to the pool. It’s so peaceful here, and I really like the setting. The rooms are clean, large, and roomy, with a jacuzzi room opening onto the pool from the ground floor. There are jets and lounge seats in the water. Jomtien walking street is nearby, but far enough away that it stays quiet. There’s also a restaurant and laundry service on site.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a small kitchenette and a fridge with a freezer. The bathroom was generally clean, though there was some long hair left by previous guests. We paid for a Jacuzzi studio, which was really a room opening directly onto the pool, with a seat and jet nozzle outside. That area wasn’t well maintained: after sitting in the jacuzzi, our swimwear turned completely green, and we couldn’t clean it afterward. There were also lots of empty plastic bottles and other trash among the plants. For what we got, the price didn’t feel fair. I’d only book it again at 1,400-1,600฿, or if it were better maintained.
