I loved how quiet it was, and the river view from the dining area was lovely. The hotel is beautiful, with spacious rooms in separate little buildings. The duck pond and resident dogs were a highlight. Breakfast came with delicious warm croissants and very good coffee. My only complaints were a very firm bed and a bathroom that could have been cleaner.

The traditional Thai homes that make up this village are the guest rooms, and the grounds are beautifully kept. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. Ayuthaya and the temple ruins are only a quick 10-15 minute drive away, though too far to walk. There’s a lot of history to see and it was a great time exploring it. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Each stay comes with a whole traditional Thai-style house, and the hotel welcomes dogs, which is great if you want to bring yours. It’s quiet after 8 pm, even on holidays, so it may not suit anyone looking for lively nightlife. The location is out in the suburbs, far from convenience stores, so you’ll need a car to go find food or drinks. The hotel is well lit around the grounds all night, and the front desk stays open late. Although the nighttime atmosphere can feel a little haunting, I slept fine and didn’t experience anything spooky. The staff were willing, friendly, and provided good service. Even though the garden setting is by the river, they do a good job keeping mosquitoes, insects, and lizards away. There were almost none. My room was quite clean, though it had a slight musty smell. The bathroom had a few old stains, but it was acceptable. The air conditioning worked well even when it was 35 degrees Celsius outside. There was no work desk in the house, so I had to sit out on the balcony to work or read. House number 3 has no curtains, which means people outside can see right into it at night when the lights are on. The other houses don’t seem to have that issue.

The resort is a peaceful spot by the river, with 13 lovely antique Thai wooden houses. There were lots of insects at night. Don’t expect much service, as I think they’re understaffed, and breakfast isn’t included. It’s about 20 minutes from downtown Ayudhaya and most attractions, so bring your own transport or pay 200 Baht each way for a taxi. An elephant sanctuary is nearby, and elephants are taken for a bath at the bridge about 10 minutes away by bicycle, around 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Go enjoy this unique experience.

The views over the lake are amazing, and the location is beautiful and remote. You stay in individual homes with a classic style, but the showers are poor and there’s no hair dryer. They only serve a basic breakfast and can’t arrange any other food, so bring your own. Since it’s so far off the beaten track, you’ll need a car or bike, or you can use local tuktuk drivers, who may guide you for the day. The staff only speak Thai. Please don’t ride elephants, visit the elephant sanctuary instead and help with rescuing them.
