S3 Ayutthaya Hotel

We really enjoyed the room and the location. I’d like to mention one uncomfortable moment with reception during check-in on 20Feb26. Our friend had already checked in for us, and we were looking for the key card in the lobby. The staff seemed to think we were checking in under another name. The misunderstanding wasn’t properly cleared up, and our friend was contacted in a tone that felt somewhat unfriendly. We didn’t know about the hotel’s specific policies, so the interaction left us uncomfortable. With more patience and clearer communication, I think this could have been handled more smoothly. I do want to thank the female staff member who helped improve the situation. Her service and professionalism were excellent, and we really appreciated her assistance. The pool has separate shallow and deep sections, but it’s quite narrow and not much fun for swimming laps. When we went around 6:00 PM, a few kids were playing, around 3-4 people. There were no staff on duty, and some guests ignored the posted rules by swimming without proper swimwear. Showers and toilets are available beside the pool, but a proper changing room is needed. Without one, guests walk back to the building wet and make a mess. The hotel is new, in a great location, with plenty of parking under the buildings and outdoors, which is useful for large groups. The restaurant building sits among the swimming pool, and there are several buildings, including rooms with direct pool access. Reception is separate from the guest area, and there’s a 300 THB deposit per keycard. The room is compact but functional, with a vanity, one chair, a small fridge, a very comfortable bed and pillows, and a balcony. The shower area is slightly lowered to keep water in. Small bottles of soap and shampoo are provided. The bathroom fragrance was so strong it irritated my throat. The air-conditioning fan was quite loud, and the bathroom door opens inward and closes tightly against the room.

The pool itself was nice, though the water was rather cold. We also had a full-day tuk tuk service for 1200 baht, which was pretty nice. We stayed two nights at this remote hotel, and the basic room had no storage. Nothing is within walking distance, so you’ll need a car. The rooms are poorly insulated. On the first night, Asian tourists were drinking and making noise outside by the pool until 11pm, and hotel staff didn’t care. At checkout, staff checked the room and charged us 200 baht for dirty towels. The dirt only came from the balcony and terrace by the pool not being cleaned. Rather than cleaning outside or looking after the property, they kept our cash deposit. I tried to explain, but they refused to return it. Very poor practice.

The air conditioning struggled to cool the room during the day, and the shower faces the light behind the mirror, which is too bright. The room itself was clean, though housekeeping had left behind an amenity used by the previous guest.
