A family of four, and we loved this place. The lodge is clean and comfortable, with a stunning balcony overlooking the river. The local people were warm, and the grounds are beautiful. Our room had tea and coffee, comfy linen, and soap in the shower. There’s a great family menu too, and strong cocktails. Pim welcomed us warmly and let us check in early. We inflated our paddle boards and took them down the river without fins. When we got off at Majestic Bar, the people there rescued us. The husband from ‘Magestic Bar’ put the boards on his 4x4 pickup and drove us back to the river lodge. We left our hire car there, and they took my husband back so we could go down the river a second time. Pim also gave us the chance to join the Khoe sok lake trip, including caves, jungle, and a restaurant before returning to the lodge. This magical place is in our family’s memories and hearts. I’d HIGHLY recommend it, it feels 5 *! Thank you for a brilliant stay, and thank you majestic bar for being such kind neighbours and helping us enjoy the paddle board trip.

From the bungalows the views are amazing, especially from one of the higher ones, and nights and mornings are extremely quiet. You might hear some rustling when monkeys swing through the trees, and wildlife such as monkeys may be around. The property reaches the river just a few steps away, and they have two floats you can use there. There’s also a bar and small snacks for sale. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the city center, which was fine for us. Rooms have no AC, but the two powerful fans kept us cool overnight. Bed nets protect against the local bugs, so don’t be alarmed if they come into the room. Days are hot, so plan to be out and about and return in the evening. One thing I learned the hard way: carrying luggage to a top bungalow means going up stairs along a slightly rocky path, so you’ll have to pull your bags over that route.

The river is right beside the property, and it really feels like you’re in the jungle. Our children loved swimming there. The rooms were okay, and the views were lovely, but keep the windows shut if you don’t want creatures coming in. We found a frog, lizards, and cockroaches in ours. A good fit for nature lovers who don’t mind being close to wildlife.

We only stayed one night, so I can’t really comment on the location. The grounds were beautiful, the room felt heavenly, and service was wonderful. Nighttime nature sounds were a little loud, but nothing too bad. Breakfast was good and looked out over the river, where you can swim. We spotted monkeys in the trees along the path to our room. Our next stop was over 30 minutes away, and no Grab drivers would take us. The front desk found us a taxi in 15 minutes, which was a huge help.

The tours were brilliant, and we wished we’d had more time to stay. Art’s Riverview Lodge is a real hidden gem in a beautiful part of Thailand. The staff were fantastic, the accommodation was comfortable, and it was all just as expected in the best way. We also loved the laid-back, vibey town, with good food and drinks nearby. Highly recommended.
