I stayed in a large pod style room at the hostel and really liked it. There's lots of space under the bed for a big backpack, though the lockers are outside the room and none are large enough for bigger gear. The bathrooms were clean and tidy, staff were helpful, and the cafe downstairs serves very good Thai and Western food. I also took the overnight floating bungalow trip with the jungle night safari. The tour delivers what it promises, and the bungalows are as rustic as advertised. But it felt disorganised in general, with delays and mixed-up timings at several points. The meals were pretty basic, and the jungle guides weren't very informative or professional. It turned into a hilarious trip thanks to the fun people I met, but I can see how it might disappoint travellers expecting something more polished. If you do the overnight lake stay, I'd consider skipping the morning boat safari, the afternoon jungle hike, or both. Neither seemed to offer much to see, and the early start or later hike can leave you pretty tired.
