The lake day trip we booked at reception was very well organized, and the pool was a lovely place to cool off after exploring. Shops, local restaurants, and massage parlors are an easy walk away. We spent three days at Morning Mist Resort in Khao Sok as a couple in our 50s, and enjoyed its local, authentic feel. The staff were wonderfully welcoming. A family of monkeys crossed our terrace, which was spectacular, though it reminded us to keep the doors shut. They may come inside to “borrow” belongings, so we let them pass by. It's a Thai-run local hotel, and some things are part of that experience: the shower pressure was low, and sounds carried from neighboring rooms because of the way they were built. We didn't mind; the place felt honest and unpretentious. We had a lovely time among the surroundings.

The rooms are basic and don't have air conditioning, but the price is excellent for what you get. The service was great, and the pool and bar area were fabulous, surrounded by nature and lots of birds. It's close to the park and plenty of restaurants. The hotel arranged a wonderful Lake & Trekking tour for us. Highly recommend.

We couldn't get a room for our preferred dates, but we were delighted with the tours they offer and the transfer to our next destination. The staff speak excellent English, respond quickly even late in the evening, and are flexible about changes to tour plans. Highly recommend, 11/10.

The beds weren't the best, but at this reasonable price it still felt like a good deal. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and helped us book all our activities. Our guides were locals, passionate about their work, and spoke English. This is the best hotel in the area for really feeling surrounded by nature. Highly recommend.

The full day jungle hike was great. I was the only person on the tour, and the friendly, attentive guide was happy to tailor it to what I wanted. Thanks to his keen eye and guidance, I got quite a few good wildlife photos. Without him, I'd have been lucky to get even a couple. I wouldn't recommend the day lake tour. It involved a lot of sitting in a noisy, uncomfortable boat, with several short excursions. The resort's location is great for nearby attractions, and the service was good. The rooms were rustic and had only a fan, no air conditioning, but that's understandable in the jungle. Overall, pretty good.
